Some twenty years ago, or so, I've participated in a creative writing circle held at Merete Mazzarella's home. I was invited to join the small group by my friend Soli. When Merete became way too busy to hold the meetings, we decide to keep meeting without her. She gave us her blessings, so to speak.
Our writing women group is still going strong :-)
I've bumped into Merete today, she actually lives in my neighborhood. We stopped to catch up, mainly about the writing group which she remembered well. She wanted to know who was still in the group and she asked me to give her best to my friends, the writing women.
Naturally, I asked if I may take her pictures - she said: "Sure, of course, you may."
It's always good to be granted permission to take portraits of people.
I have read a few of Merete's books, written in Swedish. She touches many interesting subjects in her essay kind of writing. Her autobiographical book "First they sold the piano" was the first of many which I read during the years.
