a lot of people use www.MINT.com which is an online "Air Quote" CLOUD based financial software. I tried it a few years ago and I just could not get it to work correctly for all my accounts. In theory, if it links correctly to all your accounts, then it would be awesome! I forget the details but I could not get it to link correctly to a few of my accounts, also I had trouble with it catagorizing some of my expenses wrong and I would have to go in an fix them all the time. But other people say it works great for them.
My wife and I use several bank accounts for budget purposes, and my wife balances all the checkbook registers. She's not very tech savy, so she refuses to use anything but the checkbook registers. I honestly wish they had a excel spreadsheet that looked exactly like a checkbook register. She "MIGHT" use that, and it would make things at least a little faster.
